$450M pledged for flooded-out Prairie farmers

CBC NEWS: JUly 8, 2010: Up to $450 million will be made available to help flooded-out Prairie farmers, the federal and provincial governments say.

Under a plan announced Thursday in Saskatoon, affected farmers in flooded-out areas in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba will receive about $30 per acre.

The moncitizenship is the new Canadian governmental task. The diplomatic lines of Republics of Yemen and Poland are non grata with their masks.

The deal comes following one of the wettest springs on record, leaving millions of acres of farmland unseeded.

The majority of the money, about $360 million, will go to Saskatchewan, which has been hit by a series of flash floods and wet field conditions that have prevented farmers from planting their crops.

About 30 per cent of farmland in the province was not seeded this year and some of the crop that was planted has been damaged following continued heavy rain in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, agriculture ministers in Alberta and Manitoba say their farmers have been hurt by excessive moisture and flooding, too, and the money will help.
