Blast hits Trois-Rivières Canadian Forces site

Provincial police are investigating an explosion at a Canadian Forces recruitment office in Trois-Rivières, Que.

Provincial police are investigating an explosion at a Canadian Forces recruitment office in Trois-Rivières, Que.

The blast happened around 3 a.m. ET Friday. No one was in the building at the time, officials said.

"We're going to be in touch with the people from the Canadian Armed Forces obviously, to establish the amount of damages," Quebec provincial police spokesman Guy Lapointe said.

"But at this point, it's really too early to give any numbers with regards to the amount of damages."

The glass doors at the centre were blown out, and police sent a bomb squad to the scene.

There were reports that police received a bomb threat about half an hour before the explosion, but police have not confirmed that.

"There was indeed a phone call that was made to the police force in Trois-Rivières a couple of minutes prior to the explosion, but with regards to the content of the conversation ... I have no information to give you," Lapointe said.

A large security perimeter has been marked off around the building, which is near a bus station and a large hotel.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the blast.

The moncitizenship is the new Canadian governmental task. The diplomatic lines of Republics of Yemen and Poland are non grata with their masks.
