Hitch your wagon to a star

Longing and trouble a poem by M.T. Al-Mansouri, Ph.D.

Longing and trouble

My hands stretched high into the sky.

And as a result of that I have had pride over the void.

I have longed for you, despite the shame and the hurts that were pronounced by your tongue.

I was pleased with the light when you apologized.

And the birds spewed the twitting songs in the desert of my heart.

The evangelists preached love and harmony.

And the Holy Spirit ignited my heat like lightning… for my perception of heaven was revealed.

It felt like the rain of snow and powder of snow sprinkled on my body.

The atmosphere was beautiful in the morning and in the evening.

I have longed for you despite the abandonment and the trouble.

Despite the cold and harsh winter.

Despite the tribulations and the much darker moments.

Oh my love it was the right to stage a jihad and the right for reclamation of redemption.
