OIW’s annual ‘Reading Night’ takes place on Wednesday, June 23. Members are invited to read from their works of poetry, prose or anything in between, whether these works are published or not. Each reader is allotted five minutes, monitored by a stop watch. If you have not previously read at an OIW reading night, please consider sharing your work. Writers gain much through this important professional development exposure, and listeners are always entertained by the quality and variety of the selections.

How do I book a space?
To pre-book a space to read from your work, please contact Donna MacLellan, OIW's Director of Volunteers, at: donnamac1@rogers.com citing ‘Reading Night’ in the subject header; or call Donna at (613) 244-3933. Give your full name as well as the genre and title of your work. The cut off for pre-booking a space is June 21 at 5 p.m., however, any unfilled spaces may be booked on a first come first served basis, on Reading Night at the reception desk up to 7 p.m.
What is the evening’s program?
We will hear the first 10 readers, followed by a 15 minute refreshment and socializing break with a lovely selection of fruit, cheeses, crackers and sweets especially chosen by our social director, Susan Jennings. Then we will finish off the evening with the remaining 10 readings.
Please join us for ‘Reading Night 2010’ at Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington St., Room 156. Socializing begins at 6:30 p.m. Info: Donna MacLellan: donnamac1@rogers.com or (613) 244-3933.
