M.T.Al-Mansouri,Ph.D. Ottawa, CANADA: Sunday, December 14th , 2008 at 2.00 to 4.00 p.m, The Carleton University Book Club launched the book entitled” A Biography of Pierre Berton” , which was written by A.B. McKillop, the Chancellor's Professor and Chair of the History Department at Carleton University in Ottawa.
A review and reading of a biography of Pierre Berton at the archieves and National Library . The author was questioned by Tom Sherwood Ph.D.
Pierre Berton was a Canadian writer and media figure. He was born on July 12, 1920 and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon. Pierre Berton worked in Klondike mining camps during his university years.
He spent four years in the army, rising from private to captain/instructor at the Royal Military College in Kingston.
He spent his early newspaper career in Vancouver, where at 21 he was the youngest city editor on any Canadian daily.
He wrote columns for and was editor of Maclean's magazine, appeared on CBC's public affairs program "Close-Up" and was a permanent fixture on "Front Page Challenge" for 39 years.
Pierre Berton was a columnist and editor for the Toronto Star and was a writer and host of a series of CBC programs.
He has received over 30 literary awards including the Governor-General's Award for Creative Non-Fiction (three times), the Stephen Leacock Medal of Humour, and the Gabrielle Leger National Heritage Award.
Pierre Berton received two Nellies for his work in broadcasting, two National Newspaper awards, and the National History Society's first award for "distinguished achievement in popularizing Canadian history." For his immense contribution to Canadian literature and history, he has been awarded more than a dozen honourary degrees, is a member of the Newsman's Hall of Fame, and is a Companion of the Order of Canada.
He died at Sunnybrook hospital in Toronto, reportedly of heart failure, at the age of 84 on November 30, 2004. Below is a selection his bibliography:

M.T. Al-Mansouri,Ph.D. was present at a lecture delivered by Professor Rajmohan Gandhi. The lecture was held at the Museum of Civilization on Saturday October 11th, 2008, at 2 p.m. Ottawa time.
He covered in his lecture the various aspects of Mahatma Gandhi’s life, philosophy ,and Indian’s multiculturalism.
A book entitled, "Gandhi: The Man, His People and the Empire" was written by Rajmohan Gandhi gives a complete and balanced story of Gandhi's remarkable life, the evolution of his beliefs, attitudes and his political conflicts with his antagonists. In addition, with his multifarious relations with his family members. The book was written with insight and analysis from the family papers. He was westernized lawyer, who wore the clothes of India's poorest and weaved cotton by hand, the pacifist, who persuaded Indians to participate in the First World War.
“Gandhi: The Man, His People and the Empire": recounts Gandhi's campaigns against racism in South Africa and in India against untouchability. The book tracks the historic battle for India's freedom, the evolution of Gandhi's non-violent resistance, and focuses on the relations between Muslims and non-Muslims.
The Festivities were ended by a dance performance one of India’s most accomplished Folk dancers.

The martyr, thinker, narrator and novelist Ghassan Kanafani is an individual human, who not only lived in struggle to liberate his colonized home land that was raped, but also carried the concerns and worries of his citizens in the Diaspora. As well, he is the intellectual, who predicated the future of his nation and read and understood the factual situation clearly, profoundly and accurately. All of this is evident from his collection of novels and narratives along with his behavior and biography, which significantly give us a picture of a brave, loyal and patriotic person intended for his home land and general public. The martyr described and depicted the Arab nation issue and abstracted it in the short sentences he used in his novel Men Under the Sun. He said that the Arab leaderships are unable, traitors and opportunistic due to their citizens, and Arabs are surrounded, and both are looking only for their individual salvations.
He sculpted Palestine, the holy land, completely and embodied it in the minds and sentiments in home and worldwide levels. Therefore, the enemies of humanity felt the danger of his genuine ideas. Then, they targeted and killed him on the 8th of July, 1972.
The image of Ghassan Kanafani is eternal in the memory of each free and honest man. It looks like the Palestinian eternal and lasting greenest olive tree, which has plenty of benefits. It is also reflects the human genuine person, who possesses deep and clear thought as well as complete refinement, shrewdness, and vision.
The martyr image and his fellows in the fulfillment and loyalty for their home land of Palestine or other global issues similar to Wadie Haddad, Naji Al-Ali, Ali Hassan Salameh, Yahya Ayyash, Ahmed Yassin, the poet Ahmed Matar, Mahatma Gandhi, Abdul Fattah Ismail, Pope John Paul II, Che Guevara, Abdel Halim Hafez, Mother Teresa, and Jesus of Nazareth. All those are in the minds and hearts of every individual, who would live freedom, liberty, and emancipation from oppression, injustice, repression and corruption.
These images give us hope, dignity and pride, which are the sources of renewable energy for our souls, inspirations, spirits and vitality.
Therefore, they must be in the offices of leaders, streets, post offices etc. in order to dwarf and destroy all of whom has a malicious intention to prejudice the unity of and predestine goals for seeking liberation of the holy land, Palestine.
Finally, Ghassan Kanafani lived and died as a hero and he will reborn and resurrected as a national and international hero.Read more…
الشهيد المفكر والروائي والقاص غسان كنفاني هو ذلك الرجل الإنسان الذي عاش هَمَّ وطنه المسلوب وهَمَّ شعبه في الشتات وهو كذلك المفكر الذي أستشرف مستقبل الأمة وقرأ الواقع قراءة صحيحة وعميقة ويظهر ذلك في مجموعاته القصصية والروائية وكذلك من خلال سلوكه الذي يحكي سيرة إنسان شجاع ومخلص ووفي لوطنه المتمثل بالأرض والإنسان.
لقد وصف الشهيد كنفاني حال الأمة العربية ولخصه في كلمات حيث قال في روايته "رجال تحت الشمس" إن القيادات العربية عاجزة وخائنة وانتهازية وشعوب الأقطار العربية مستسلمة وكلتاهما تبحثان عن خلاصهما الخاص.
لقد نحت فلسطين كاملة ليجسدها في الأفق الفكري والعقلي والوجداني علي الصعيدين الوطني والعالمي. لذا شعر أعداء الإنسانية بخطورة فكره النبيل فاغتالوه في الثامن من يوليو عام 1972م.
صورة غسان كنفاني هي تلك الصورة الأزلية والتي ستبقى في ذاكرة الإنسان الحر والشريف فهي كشجرة الزيتون الفلسطينية الخالدة دائمة الإخضرار وكثيرة المنافع والفوائد هي صورة الإنسان الأصيل فهي تعكس فكره الثاقب ورؤيته الصافية والمكتملة.

The purpose of this survey is to write a book about death, reincarnation, resurrection or any kind of Life After Death, a subject of interest to many of us, whether that is life in spirit and soul only after death.
I M.T. Al-Mansouri, Ph.D. have decided to co-author this book based on scientific data that is representative of a wide cross-section of Canadians and beyond.
Therefore, the survey will make the contents of the book factual or very close to reality. What happens to us after death is becoming more and more a subject of discussion among people of different religious denominations and atheists alike?

قاعدة بيانات الاخ الفارس المصري غلط فالمهاجرين هاجروا لملايين الاسباب عبر الازمان, فمثلاتعلمت في الوطن العربي اليمن ومصر وكذلك علمت في جامعة قطر وتعلمت كذلك في اوروبا وكندا. لقد عدت من اوروبا الى البلد الام- الارض والانسان, ثم هاجرت كما هاجر الانبياء والمؤمنيين والرسل !!!! ؟
الاخ العراقي لقد كتبت مقال - مستقبل العراق موجود في بورتل عرب تيمز فارجو الاطلاع عليه.

2 : عندما يشخص المختص الداءأوالمشكلة فعليه بالعلاج او حل المشكلة.
3: ممتاز أنك تميز الجميل من اللاجميل.أوفقك روئيتك أن التفوه بالاحرف اي نطق الكلام لايوحد الشعوب. فاللغة فكر واشياءاخري.فالعرب ليس لديهم لغة فكر ولا شيئ لذا فهم في متاهات.أماأوروبا فلها لغات عديدة ولكنهم لديهم لغة واحدة مشتركة.
بالنسبة بكره او يكره العرب أو اي جنس بشري اخر. فارجوك أن تميز ولا تعمم فالكره له اسبابه ولديك الحق للكره والحب ولكن على الانسان أن يخلق ميكانيزمات دفاعية حتي لايسقط في حقل المفاهيم السالبة كالعنف والكراهية والعنصرية .

حياك الله . تختلف وجهات النظر ولا مشكلة. أقراء في البورتل وفي مقالاتي مايعجبك. وتذكر أن هناك اشياء للعقل والنفس والجسد وكل الأشياء مرتبطة ببعض, وكما أن الانسان وبقية الكائنات والجماد تحب وتعمل أو تنشط وتتداخل والخ في الشتاء والصيف كذلك توجد فصول كالربيع والخريف. أما اللغة الانجليزية فهي لغتي الرسمية واحب أكتب بلغة الضاد كذلك. لك محبتي.

الاخ محمد على شكراً على ردك وتركيزك على بند أفيون القات.
ليس لدي علم عن موضوع تحريم هذا الافيون الخطير من قيبل " علماء المسلمين" فهم لم يتفقوا على أي شيئ . أنا اول من حرم تناول القات واصدرت فتوة بذلك الفتوة موجودة في بورتل عرب تيمز.

الاخ احمد: كثير من الدول استعمرت ولكن لم يحدث بها مايحدث في العراق خذ على سبيل المثال ألمانيا,اليابان وكوريا. لك كل الحق في التفكير وترتيب الاولويات.

هذا الواقع ولن يتحسن , والامور في المنطقة تسير من سيئ الى اسوء.الحتمية التاريخية مشروطة بالعمل الحقيقي والا سقطت كما تسقط الحضارات. المؤرخ أرنولد توينبي قال ماقال في الستينيات وكان وقتها التضامن العربي أقوى والخلافات أقل وعوامل ومؤشرات اخري اعطته دليل وبرهان على ماقاله وماكتبه.اقراء ياسيد عبدالكريم وفكر السرد ليس مفيد التفكير والخيال اهم.
من الموسوعة توينبي استلهمَ من عِلم النَفس السلوكيّ، وعلى وَجه الخصوص من كارل يونغ (1875–1961). ويقول هذا العالم إنَّ الفَرد الذي يتعرَّضُ لصدمةٍ قد يفقدُ توازُنَه لفترةٍ ما، ثمَّ قد يستجيبُ لها بنوعَين من الاستجابة:

ماقصدته "الديك يمثل الحق والصدق والفضيلة والنبي والخالق". هو بمعني اخر احد تلك الاسماء والله يمثل في مخلوقاته فالصادق صفة للانسان والجميل الورد والخيل وهكذا.فالصفات مشتركة بين كل الاشياء وبلاحدود.
أما بالنسبة للقصة:صنفهاالمختصون- قصة خيال علمي, وبالنسبة لي قصة حقيقية واقعية فالطلاسم التي ذكرتهااعتبرها خيال!
